Too often, the achievement gap faced by students with disabilities becomes an employability gap in adulthood as students exit the public school system. When neurodiversity is valued and supported in the workplace, everyone benefits—and all employees have the opportunity to thrive.
Companies that invest in accepting workspaces tap into the strengths of neurodivergent employees, leading to higher retention, stronger workplace culture, and a competitive advantage.
When leadership prioritizes accessibility and flexibility businesses don’t just meet goals—they drive innovation, engagement, and success.
With decades of experience working with neurodivergent individuals, our team is dedicated to empowering employers with actionable strategies rooted in experience. Learn more about how the Empowered team helps businesses design workspaces and harness the benefits of a neurodivergent workforce. Leveraging universal design ultimately provides better access for all. Let us support your company in creating an environment where all employees can thrive!
Empowered partners with employers to create more inclusive workplaces where neurodivergent individuals and individuals with disabilities can contribute, grow, and thrive.
Through our workforce development initiatives, we collaborate with businesses to better understand talent, identify workplace opportunities, and design environments that recognize individual strengths while supporting employee success.

At Empowered, we collaborate with nonprofit and private industry partners to promote understanding of neurodivergence in the workplace. Our mission is to expand cultures of acceptance while addressing the employability gap for neurodivergent individuals
Through partnerships with employers, we proudly contribute to the growing movement towards workplace cultures of acceptance, ensuring meaningful and sustainable employment opportunities.

At Empowered, we believe in experiential learning and leveraging authentic partnerships to promote employability, independence, and community purpose. One of our most innovative focus areas is workforce development through agriculture and agritourism—creating meaningful pathways from school to adulthood through hands-on, real-world experiences.
Farms, greenhouses, markets, farm events, cottage stays, and other land-based enterprises offer rich environments where students with disabilities and neurodivergent learners can develop essential workforce skills while discovering their strengths, building confidence, and contributing to their communities.
Agriculture-based learning naturally supports the principles of universal design by offering structured routines, sensory-regulated environments, visual supports, and flexible tasks that can be adapted to a variety of learning styles and abilities. Through experiences in areas such as animal care, hospitality, food service, facilities management, and land stewardship, individuals build transferable skills that prepare them for meaningful employment.
Empowered partners with schools, agricultural organizations, and employers to bridge the gap between transition planning and the workplace. Our work extends beyond preparing individuals for jobs—we collaborate with employers to design more inclusive workplaces that recognize neurodivergent talent, embrace diverse strengths, and create environments where individuals can contribute, grow, and thrive.
By partnering with agritourism operations and community businesses, we demonstrate how inclusive workforce development benefits everyone: individuals gain purpose and opportunity, employers gain access to emerging talent, and communities become stronger through meaningful participation and belonging.
Whether you are a farm owner, market manager, employer, educator, or community partner interested in building a school-to-work pipeline rooted in nature, sustainability, and inclusion, we would love to collaborate.
Let’s grow inclusive futures together—one field at a time.
