questions as you consider providers

Working with you on your parenting journey is an honor

We encourage you to use our questions when evaluating any provider. While we would be honored to partner with you, we understand that we may not be the right fit for everyone. No matter whom you choose to support your parenting journey, take the time to understand their expertise and how they can best serve your family. Here are some key questions to help guide your decision-making process!

  • What is your educational background and training?
  • What specific education and professional experience do you have in child development and social-emotional skill development?
  • What professional licenses, endorsements, and certifications qualify you for this work?
  • What experience do you have working with families and children?
  • What professional experience do you have in schools, home settings, clinics, community centers, or educational systems?
  • What training and experience do you have in education and special education law?
  • What is your clinical experience?
  • In what types of family-based settings have you worked?
  • What qualifies you to make recommendations for a child’s support plan?
  • Are you qualified to evaluate children? If so, what tools and assessments do you use?
  • What training and experience do you have with educational data?
  • What is your background in collecting and analyzing data to inform programming?
  • What experience do you have in designing and administering evaluations, analyzing results, and using data to develop curricula (both for groups and individualized programs)?
  • What specific interventions are you trained in?
  • How do you use data to develop goals and objectives that align with developmental expectations while ensuring progress toward closing achievement gaps?
